Allerton Road Boreham Wood
Greenacres shared its site with Parkside County Junior Mixed and Campions County Secondary Modern schools. It opened as an infants school on 19 April 1956 taking children who were temporarily housed in the other two schools whilst the premises were under construction. Others came from High Canons in Ridge, Foulds in Barnet and Merydene in Boreham Wood.
The headmistress was Miss M J Moore who had to serve at Parkside School until the school building was completed. Mrs Knight, dining room helper, was transferred from Campions School.
1963 the school and site along with Parkside and Campions were shown on a conveyance paper as being sold by the London County Council to Hertfordshire County Council for £38,570.
In 1969 the children were transferred to Parkside School which gained Junior Mixed Infants status because Greenacres was converted to an establishment for children of all ages with educational special needs (ESN). Its name was changed to Great Brookmead. This was subsequently demolished in 1995 and is now a nursing home, The Meads, Carlton Close.
